Hi! I’m Cat Harris, and I make cool stuff.
For over fifteen years I’ve worked by day in film VFX – I designed Dr. Strange’s rune shields, the Abilisk monster blasts at the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy II and countless other weird, wonderful and glorious visual effects for films, TV and commercials. Check out more of my work on imdb!
Away from the computer, I create props, puppets and illustrations for theatre and events, including building a full set of plants for Little Shop of Horrors in 2026. I have masters degrees in both physics (Cambridge) and special effects (NFTS), and during and since my studies I’ve gathered a ridiculous portfolio of skills, from prosthetics and puppetry to stage illusions, miniatures and electronics. I love puzzles and magic, and my favourite thing in the world is working out how to achieve an effect that sounds impossible.
I’m based just outside Brussels, Belgium, and can work anywhere in the UK and EU without visa restrictions.
